Cancer Screening

Our Cancer Screening is targeted at 3 main types of Cancers- Cervical, Breast and Colon.

If you are a female over 18 years of age or are sexually active, you need to have a Pap Smear at least once every 3 years. Since we started tracking this measure over 2 years ago, RHCC has performed over 2500 Pap Smears on our female patients. This is slightly over 50% of all eligible patients.

If you are female and age 40 or over, you need to have a mammogram at least once every 2 years. Since we started tracking this measure over 2 years ago, RHCC has referred over 1059 mammograms for our female patients. This is slightly over 35% of all eligible patients.

If you are male or female over the age of 50, you need to be screened for colon cancer by one of 3 methods: A Fecal Occult Blood Test (FOBT) once per year, A Sigmoidoscopy once every 5 years, or A colonscopy once every 10 years. Since we started tracking this measure over 2 years ago, RHCC has either performed or referred over 500 FOBT or colonscopy tests for our patients. This is slightly over 18% of all eligible patients.
