Mission Statement:
“Our mission is to improve the health status of our communities by providing an integrated system of high quality primary and preventive health services to all we serve.” Robeson Health Care Corporation (RHCC) is a consortium of community health centers, founded in 1985 in response to an effort by the US Public Health Service to provide increased access to health care and social programs in rural areas of Robeson County, NC. RHCC currently provides the following services: preventive, primary, acute, and chronic medical care to all age groups; prenatal and pediatric care; high risk prevention, health education, and referral. In 1994, Robeson County was designated an Enterprise Community (EC) by the US Department of Agriculture. The clinic services are located in three of five designated Enterprise Zones: Fairmont, Maxton, and Lumberton. As a consortium of community health centers, RHCC primarily serves rural and indigent residents of the County. Approximately 25% of the county's residents are covered by Medicaid; 14% are covered by Medicare; 44% are covered by private insurance; and at least 18% are without health insurance coverage. Our work addresses the objective that we will increase availability and utilization of health services by all people living in rural areas of the state. The focus of the clinical services is on improving health status by increase accessibility of primary and preventive medical care, thereby improving health outcomes in this traditionally underserved population. |
